Story

The Story behind the making of "Let You Go":

This song was recorded at Orb Recording Studios  in Austin, TX with producer, musician (guitarist of Anberlin), songwriter, mixer Joseph Milligan. Go check him out. He's fantastic!

I was teamed up with Joseph via Matt Noveskey, studio owner, producer, musician (bassist of Blue October), songwriter. Matt volunteered to through phone recordings I had done of songs I had written to help me narrow down which song I should record first. He zoned in on "Let You Go". We quickly scheduled recording time out at Orb & the result is this song that I am so very proud of & happy to share with you all.

Story behind the cover art:
I'm friends with a wonderful photographer in the Austin area, Suzanne Cordeiro.  (Please go show her some love, she's an amazing photographer & person.)  My team contacted Suzanne to see if she would be willing to help me with the cover art of Let You Go. After listening to the song, she helped me come up with the concept & she immediately put me in contact with Greg Testerman of J Gregory Photography. I booked my friend Brave Stephens to be the distant love interest & bam we have art! :)

Thanks so much to everyone who helped me make this happen. I couldn't do it without your love & support!!
xoxo-Kat

Lyrics

This building's burning. Burning down.
Oh pick me up my buttercup.
And save me from this avalanche of past mistakes n' fret.
My raft,  my fool, my pretty one.
The hands of time have come undone.
I don't know if you can forgive, but give me a try.

Time builds walls faster than I could fall in your arms.
Now were burning down.
They all closed in like wolves in sheep's skin.
I didn't  know. Do I have to let you go?

These pretty things they lie for fun.
They make up as they go along to keep you from holding my hand.
They pry your fingers away.
You asked me why I couldn't trust a man so perfect like yourself.
But thats what makes me buckle down.
I couldn't  turn away.

Time builds walls faster than I could fall in your arms.
Now were burning down.
They all closed in like wolves in sheep's skin.
I didn't  know. Do I have to let you go?

They say you've been part of the movement.
Its been quite gruelling, since the walls tumbled down.

They say you've got your life together,
while I'm fragile  as a feather.
Where did the time escape.

When did time build walls faster than I could fall in your arms.
I made us burn down.
I collect your ashes.
You throw mine in the trash. but I didn't  know.
Did I have to let you go? oh, oh, ohhhh
